RESPONDING TO PRIVACY INCIDENTS

BOSSEUR INC follows a specific procedure in the event of a suspected or confirmed privacy incident involving personal information, as outlined in the Act Respecting the Protection of Personal Information in the Private Sector (CQLR c. P-39.1) and its associated regulations.

DEFINITIONS

Privacy Incident: Any unauthorized access, use, disclosure, loss, or breach involving personal data.

 

Examples:

  • Hacking into a database containing personal records.

  • Misuse of client information by an employee.

  • Sending personal data to the wrong recipient.

  • Theft or loss of devices or documents containing sensitive information.

  • Unlawful modification of personal data in a database.

Personal Information: Data that can identify an individual either alone or when combined with other information. Examples include:

  • Name and date of birth

  • Social Insurance Number

  • Credit card or bank details

  • Health records

  • Address or phone number linked to a person’s name

Sensitive Information: Data that reveals intimate, medical, biometric, or financial information, or pertains to political, religious, sexual orientation, or ethnic identity.

PROTECTING PERSONAL INFORMATION

  • Steps taken by BOSSEUR INC to minimize harm

  • Recommendations for protecting oneself

INCIDENT REGISTRY

BOSSEUR INC keeps a detailed log of all privacy incidents.

Incident records are stored for at least five (5) years from the date the organization became aware of the incident or for the duration required by law.

We maintain a dedicated complaints register to track and document any issues related to personal data protection.

EFFECTIVE DATE

This Privacy Policy came into effect on July 23, 2023 and applies to all personal information collected and managed by BOSSEUR INC from that date forward.
